Our founder Marie’s vibrant and community-based upbringing in Colombia has brought forth multiple inspirations for our collections and has had a significant impact on our design process.
The influence of nature and colour in particular work together in Marie de la Roche’s work, expressing herself through different silhouettes brought from curiosity and positivity. Our visual diary was used as a guide for next season’s inspirations, mixing flora, architecture, textures, with a splash of Latin spirit. South America is full of mystery, legends and mythical stories – nowhere is this more true than in Colombia, where one of the most widespread legends is that of El Dorado. Referred to as a chief, city and empire at various points throughout history, this is a legend that has been passed down through the generations.
To honor the Gods and universe creation, the Muisca chief of the Guatavita lagoon would cover himself with gold dust in a gold and emerald covered raft and jump into the lake while leaving the precious goods behind as a gift. The legend honors nature as something more valuable than gold itself and the appreciation of all we have received from it.
Marie de la Roche is paying tribute to this legend by using hints of gold and illuminating features that are sure to capture any eye and make you the highlight of the night✨.
